Shower area prepped and ready for tile. We’re using the @laticrete HydroBan board and pre-sloped pan. This product gives you the option to use three different approved methods. Sealant, banding and thin set, or fabric and liquid applied membrane. Gives the installer the option of their preferred method. I had an extra bucket of the HydroBarrier and went over the sealant with fabric just for fun - approved per the rep by Laticrete.

I also went a little above and waterproofed outside area with some Subliner dry and banding I had just in case.
After passing rough inspections we were able to insulate and hang drywall at the Phoenixville master bath project. Now on to taping and shower prep!

Cabinets are set are we’re ready for template! Walnut perimeter cabinets with a painted “stone” grey island gives this kitchen a nice blend of color. Looking forward to all the aspects coming together!

Tile install complete and ready for grout. This mudroom bench area is also getting some matte oil rubbed pulls/hooks (new color I just made up?) a contrasting cushion/baskets for the cubbies and under cabinet lighting. I see it 👌…visualize.
Here’s another angle of the #bluebell kitchen renovation. Painters start tomorrow 💃🏻. Nearing the finish line!

Got a decent amount done on the picket back splash the last few days. One more wall and then it’s grout time!
Here’s another great @kuikenbrothers trim profile we’re using at the current #BlueBell kitchen remodel. It’s profile kb163 and is part of the Modern Craftsman Greek Revival collection. This company has done a nice job of providing what would usually be “custom” milled profiles at a local shop or lumber yard, and making them stock and readily available. They have differentiated by putting effort into expanding their moulding collection which allows me to do the same with my customers.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about the #BlueBell kitchen project and my curated photo updates have been lacking as you can tell. Well the tile floor is done except for grout which I most certainly would have done before cabinets, but was under a time crunch for template that could not be moved. I realized a quarter of the way through cleaning joints, that cleaning and grouting 650sf of tile would take too long so I had to pivot. I’ll tape off and mask cabinets before grout. Toe kicks and base will “hide” the rest. I know, sounds like your typical contractor rushing, but sometimes you need to just make stuff happen. It will all come together and look beautiful in the end…

I used to think compromising on my process of one job at a time or this HAS to be done before that, would make be a bad craftsman, but since the surge in demand for work/products that leaves you stuck on some projects, you have no choice but to compromise. That doesn’t mean the quality is compromised, but makes me feel a little more unorganized and frazzled to be honest. Once I’m done with these two open projects (west chester mudroom), I’m going to do my best to make sure it doesn’t happen moving forward. No guarantees. (“Find help.” K.)
